Hungerford Railway Bridge
The first Hungerford bridge was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel! Brunel created the original Hungerford foot bridge in the 1840s! Hungerford suspension bridge was then rebuilt and then two additional foot bridges was built on each side that became known as the Golden Jubilee Bridges! However, the past master of British engineering Isambard Kingdom Brunel was the engineer who built the first suspension bridge across the River Thames in 1840 which was opened in 1845! The current Hungerford bridge is a replacement bridge with railway lines leading to and from Charing Cross Railway station! When the original Hungerford bridge was dismantled, Brunel was not be outdone, he used the chains form the old Hungerford foot bridge to improvise the Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol!
