Discovery Humboldt's Penguins
Brief Description of Discovery of Penguin! An underwater swimming penguin picture shown above! The Humboldt's Penguin (Spheniscus humboldti) as shown in picture above was named after the German explorer and naturalist: Friedrich Heinrich Alexander Baron von Humboldt! Baron von Humboldt discovery of the penguins took him over five years from 1799 through to 1804 studying penguin underwater birds! Friedrich von Humboldt travelled to South America, in which he formulated a scientific description for the South American penguin sea mammal! Humboldt's penguins are found along the Pacific coast of South America. These Humboldt's penguin birds are on a rapid decline in the wild due to their habitat desolation and over fishing! It is of note to know that these penguin birds are also known as Peruvian penguins or Patranca penguins!
